Slip Lane Tentatively Scheduled To Be Repaved This Year

Below is email chain regarding the slip lane repaving

Vito,

Yes, the slip lane will be repaved during the second phase of the Killington Road repaving project.  The schedule of that project is subject to the completion of the walkway extension project.  The final walkway extension plans are with AOT who must sign off before we are able to bid the project (since we are getting 80% of the sidewalk project paid for by grant funds, we have to get their approval).  We are monitoring this daily and working with them to complete it as soon as possible.  Our hope is to have it done this year, but the State is the unknown variable and we’ll know the final schedule by mid-July.

Subject: Slip lane paving

Sirs, Madam,

I am concerned about the West Hill Road slip lane repaving schedule. In prior conversations with the Select Board, the Town Manager, Seth Webb, and the Town Road and Facilities Manager, Chet Hagenbarth it was stated that the slip lane would be paved during the second phase of the Killington Road construction. Could you pleaser confirm this once again and if not please state the reasons for the change in schedule.
I am concerned because of the continual allusions to closure of the slip lane as an option preferred by Selectman Chris Bianchi and Chet Hagenbarth in private conversations and public discourse even after my submission of a petition signed by virtually every resident in the West Hill Road neighborhood and others beyond it. [requesting all actions and considerations regarding the slip lane cease]

That slip road should have been paved last year when the rest of West Hill Road was paved. If they don't get it done soon, those potholes are going to make it impossible to use. Or is that the plan?
